Doug Brugge, PhD, MS is professor and chair of the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He directs the Community Assessment of Freeway Exposure and Health project, which is a series of studies about ultrafine particles from traffic, their association with cardiovascular health risk and how to reduce exposure and risk (https://sites.tufts.edu/cafeh/). Most of his work uses a community-based participatory research approach. He has over 180 publications and a deep commitment to seeing research translated into policy and practice.
