Architects, designers, and planners have a critical leadership role to play in addressing whole systems change. Attend this Masters Series session with Deanna Van Buren as she shares compelling stories compiled from 10 years of cutting-edge research and development, community-engaged processes and strategies she has advanced through her leadership at Designing Justice + Designing Spaces. Deanna has used her passion for architecture and design to inspire and support innovative and creative leadership in the built environment to reimagine regenerative prototypes for justice, with a focus on economic and social sustainability. While focused on justice, learnings can be applied to any sector of social change that you may be addressing.
Learning Objectives:
Inspire designers and planners to engage in supporting whole systems change.
Gain and understanding of how to incorporate business models, critical partnerships and moving upstream in the process of large scale implementation in order to achieve systems level change.
Identify community engagement strategies, research methodologies and design strategies that can be used to develop new community-driven prototypes at various scales.
Learn how applying a multidisciplinary approach to design and developing new building prototypes addresses triple bottom line equity.
