Dan Schooff served as the Chief of Staff and Secretary of Beloit College where was the project manager for the Powerhouse project. Beloit College and Alliant Energy found common ground to serve a vital college and community need - allowing for the repurposing of the historic Blackhawk Generating Station. This $50m athletic, student union, and community center has won international awards and opened in February 2020. It will be LEED-certified and also uses a unique river-sourced geothermal system.
Prior to his joining the Beloit College staff, he served Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle’s administration in roles including the Secretary and Deputy of the Department of Administration and Executive Assistant to the Chair of the Public Service Commission. He also represented Beloit in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1998 to 2004.
