Join USGBC to envision the next version of the LEED rating system. In June 2022 the Future of LEED principles were released to share the future direction of LEED development. A critical part of this development is the connection to stakeholders and our community to understand where LEED can have the most impact. This session will feature an overview of the Future of LEED principles from members of the LEED steering committee, followed by breakout group conversations. Attendees will join moderated, in-depth discussions of how to best apply the concepts behind the future of LEED principles to the next version of the LEED rating system, then present back to the group. Content will include linkages between what is in the current system and the future trajectory of LEED into the next version and beyond.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss the future needs of the buildings industry and most pressing concerns for today and how they are integrated through the LEED rating system.
Explore next steps for LEED strategies and credits related to decarbonization, resilience, health and equity.
Understand how to contribute to the evolution of LEED as the next version is developed.
Contribute to the evolution of LEED v4/v4.1 to the next version of the rating system focused on new construction, existing buildings, neighborhoods, cities and communities.
