Confronting this topic head on, this session will provide a deep dive into decarbonization in LEED, focusing on all electric buildings. This will present concepts built from the future of LEED principles and address Optimize Energy Performance requirements in the Energy and Atmosphere category. We will lay the foundation with what it means to realize a decarbonized building. From there we will discuss new options in development for LEED projects.

Learning Objectives:

Introduce and compare the benefits of approaches in LEED v4.1 to the design of low carbon buildings.
Establish a core set of strategies rooted in the Energy and Atmosphere section of LEED v4.1 BD+C to meet 2030 and beyond carbon and electrification goals.
Illustrate how projects can implement electrification carbon reduction strategies.
Chart how design tools available now set the groundwork for the future of LEED.
