The mandate is clear. We must create more sustainable buildings to reach global carbon emission goals. This means two things. Future developments require a sustainability-first approach and existing buildings must be retrofitted to meet new standards.
With fewer than 20% of commercial buildings currently green certified, we obviously have a long way to go. How can we afford to make the other 80% meet sustainability standards? What are the best sources of capital today? What are the factors that you should look for in a lender?
Green finance expert Peter Grabell will walk participants through the other kind of green involved in sustainable buildings: money. He'll explain various financing options available to developers and property owners who want to create more sustainable and healthier spaces but need to know the best approach to financing their projects.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the sources of capital available for sustainable development and retrofit projects.
Learn about recent shifts in lending sources that may affect where you go for funding.
Know what to look for, and what to look out for, in a lender.
How to prioritize your green energy and materials investments to get the biggest return.
