Hello, my name is Hannah Hausman, an undergraduate student at St. Catherine University with a biology major and a minor in longevity and aging. I pursued this pulmonary regeneration research during a summer fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, with funding and support from the Katies for Aging Research and Equity (KARE) program of which I am a scholar in. Currently, I am working with a microbiology faculty member at my college institution conducting long-read sequencing of algal genomes and collaborating with a University of Minnesota lab to characterize membrane transporters using electrophysiology. Motivated by my experiences with the KARE program and the Mayo Clinic, I plan on going to graduate school to get a PhD in biomedical research.
