Ms. Gordon is the Director of Community Engagement at the University of Louisville Trager Institute and teaches at the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work. Prior to working with the University, Ms. Gordon served as Director of Social Services (which also serves as the Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living & Aging and Disability Resource Center) at the Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA) for more than 17 years. She also has several years experience working in the community in various capacities, including Coalition development, planning and implementing initiatives related to health and wellness, and advocating for programs and services that will impact the quality of life of all citizens living in the communities and environments they choose. Ms. Gordon has worked in the field of human and social services for more than four decades including working for the state of Kentucky at the Department for Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services and the Office of Aging Services. She served as the Director of a Senior Center in Frankfort KY and served as an in-home services case manager for a ten county area in south central Kentucky. Ms. Gordon worked in behavioral health for several years serving persons with severe and persistent mental illness, dual diagnoses, and older adults with behavioral health diagnoses. Ms. Gordon served on various boards, councils and task forces and currently serves on the Board for the Kentucky Voices for Health and the Hildegard House. She works with other community organizations including her family's not-for-profit, Family Circle, Inc.
