Dr. Weidi Qin /way-dee cheen/ is a National Institute on Aging Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan Population Studies Center. She completed her PhD in Social Welfare at Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences of Case Western Reserve University. She is an interdisciplinary scholar trained in gerontological social work and public health. Her research is focused on aging, cardiometabolic health, and social determinants of health. Broadly, she studies the biopsychosocial mechanism linking stressful life events, psychosocial coping resources, and health outcomes among older adults with a special focus on older African Americans.
