Kaleena (Kali) Odd is a doctoral candidate in Gerontology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and primarily works with Dr. Julie Blaskewicz Boron.
Briefly, Kali's research interests include retirement, working in later life, lifespan development, social support, and cognition. For her dissertation, she is utilizing a multidimensional retirement planning perspective to investigate both pre-and post-retirees’ retirement planning knowledge, concerns, and preparation as well as potential changes due to COVID-19. She also conducts secondary data analysis utilizing advanced statistical techniques (i.e., structural equation modeling and multilevel modeling) in a variety of datasets including the Health and Retirement Study (HRS), Seattle Longitudinal Study (SLS), and Midlife Development in the United States (MIDUS) study. Kali is also passionate about online and in-person teaching and aims to create inclusive learning environments for all learners. Her teaching philosophy involves a holistic developmental perspective, and she targets learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.
