Josephine McMurray, PhD, FBTM, MBA, MRT, is an Associate Professor at the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University, in the Business Technology Management Program, and Asscociate Scientific Director at AGE-WELL NCE. Her research is focussed on issues at the intersection of healthcare, technology & management. Her work on regional health innovation ecosystems, developing “Silicon Valley”-like regional spaces to support healthy aging, includes research on intersectional issues impacting women medtech entrepreneurs. Her research with the AGE-WELL National Centres of Excellence includes investigating more sustainable workspaces for employees diagnosed with early onset dementia or mild cognitive impairment on the job, as well as using implementation science theory to better understand the use of geo-location technology in long-term care homes for people living with dementia. She is a member of an award-winning team implementing the dementia isolation toolkit to address the negative impacts of COVID-related quarantine on residents and carers in long term care.
