Susan Patel has been a practicing Physical Therapist for 14 years with experience in acute care and outpatient care settings. She graduated with a Master’s in physical therapy from Northern Illinois University and with a transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Michigan at Flint in 2016. She completed a one-year long geriatric residency program at Cincinnati VA medical center. She is a Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist, Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults, a Certified Tai Chi for Health Instructor and a Certified Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga Instructor. Currently practicing in Outpatient Physical Therapy, she is the lead of the Gerofit Program at Cincinnati VA Medical center, a national exercise and health promotion program for Older Adults. She also serves in the Whole Health-Wellness Strength for Life program teaching group fitness and tai chi classes. Additionally, she is a volunteer for the bi-monthly APTA Geriatric Journal Club.
