Monica Maly, MPH recently graduated with her Master of Public Health with a focus in Community and Behavioral Health from the Colorado School of Public Health in Aurora, Colorado. She is a passionate public health advocate who has dedicated her research and career to improving the care provided to the aging population. She achieved a Bachelors of Arts in Integrative Physiology and a minor in Public Health at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2018. Since graduating from CU Boulder, Monica has worked in direct patient care, care coordination, patient advocacy, and research, but has found her true passion in gerentology and healthy aging. Monica has worked in healthcare and public health for the last 5 years and hopes to continue sharing her knowledge and research with her peers to help close the gaps that currently exist in healthcare. Monica has experience with strategy, implementation, and management of community engagement and healthcare initiatives, bring a unique perspective to her current role at Amazon Care as a Care Coordinator. Monica previously worked with the Colorado Health Network, in Denver, Colorado, for her grauduate practicum and capstone courses. Through this opportunity, Monica carried out a multi-level research study focusing on determining the feasibility of use of a geriatric cognitive screening tool by medical case managers at AIDS Service Organizations serving older people living with HIV (50+). Monica aims to continue sharing the results and knowledge she gained through this research study to help further the care provided to older people living with HIV and the aging population as a whole.
