Dr. Lauren Hunt is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiological Nursing at UCSF. She is also a Senior Atlantic Fellow in the Global Brain Health Institute, affiliate faculty in the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies, and co-chair of the Geropsychiatric Nursing Collaborative. She received her BA from Columbia University, MSN from Boston College, PhD in Gerontological and Palliative Care Nursing from UCSF, and was a VA Quality Scholar at the San Francisco VA Health Care System. Her research, which has been funded by the National Institute of Health, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the National Center for Palliative Care Research, focuses on understanding the geriatric and palliative care needs and experiences of older adults with dementia throughout the trajectory and across care settings. She is currently funded through a Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging to examine the impacts of Medicare hospice payment reform on hospice use in older adults with dementia.
