Dr. Tay is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing. Dr Tay's primary research interest is to address the goal of patient-centered, family oriented care by optimizing patients and their families' medical decision making during serious illness. Specifically, Dr. Tay is interested to examine how patient and family factors influence medical decisions and the spillover effects of these decisions throughout the trajectory of illness and bereavement. Dr. Tay's research spans qualitative, mixed methods, and quantitative approaches, and her past and ongoing research includes intervention development, community-based participatory research, dyadic studies, and population-level datasets.
