Dr. Kuo received her Ph. D. and Master Degree in Social Welfare from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and two Master Degrees in Gerontology and Health Administration from the University of Southern California (USC). Currently, she serves as the Associate Professor of the Department of Medicine at the Chung Shan Medical University as well as the Executive Director of Taichung City Dementia Integrated Care Center in Taiwan. She teaches gerontology, aging policies and welfare, dementia care, medical humanity, and group work. Dr. Kuo is active internationally in both academia and policy advocacy. She is the President of Taiwan Association of Family Caregivers and represents Taiwan to the board of International Alliance of Carer Organizations (IACO). In 2021, Dr. Kuo was awarded the Fellow status of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA), a prestigious academic organization in the field of aging in the United States. Dr. Kuo is also active in service organizations, including Hsiang Shan Arts and Culture Foundation, the Red Cross in Taichung City, and serves an Advisor to various Government Long-term Care Committees in Taiwan.
