MaryKatherine Gaurke is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Philosophy at Georgetown University. Her dissertation research explores phenomenological approaches to understanding the lived experience of dementia and offers suggestions for improving care relationships for individuals living with this condition and their care partners. MaryKatherine served as the inaugural Clinical Ethics Fellow at the John J Lynch Center for Ethics, Medstar Washington Hospital Center from Summer 2021-2022, and is now practicing as a Clinical Ethicist for Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
