Professor and Associate Dean for Transformative Clinical Practice

Carolyn Clevenger, gerontological nurse practitioner, is Professor and Associate Dean for Transformative Clinical Practice at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. She is responsible for the Office of Clinical Affairs and the Emory Nursing Experience including the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Education Center.
Clevenger is the Clinical Director and a practicing nurse practitioner at the Emory Integrated Memory Care program. Integrated Memory Care is a nurse-led primary care practice for people living with dementia. The new model of care has been recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home and an Age Friendly Health System. The clinic boasts the extraordinarily high patient experience scores and has nearly eliminated avoidable hospitalizations for people living with dementia.
Dr. Clevenger earned her BSN from West Virginia University, her MSN from Emory University, and her DNP from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
