Paula Carder’s research focuses on housing and long-term services and supports for older persons and people living with disabilities, including people with limited economic resources and people living with dementia. She has published numerous articles and book chapters about assisted living, dementia care and publicly subsidized housing. Dr. Carder was co-convener of the Assisted Living Special Interest Group for several years. She teaches long-term care policy, health and housing, and qualitative research methods at Portland State University. In her spare time, she likes to kayak, canoe and bike.
