Kristie Porter, MPH is an qualitative research methods expert and specializes in studies of long-term care in the U.S. She has over a 15 years of long-term care research experience. She currently specializes in residential and assisted living, nursing homes, and home care/home health in addition to studying the workforce challenges in all three settings. She has contributed to the understanding of staffing challenges, changes and nursing home closures, due to the COVID pandemic, across multiple research studies in the past two years. She has worked at RTI for almost a decade, preceded by four years at the Duke School of Nursing and a career in education research (~8 years). Ms. Porter is currently a manager and senior policy analyst in the Health Care Quality and Outcomes Center at RTI International.
