Dr. Reyes is an activist scholar and storyteller. Her research centers on the experiences of Latinx and Black elders throughout the life course to understand the influence of socio-political developments on individuals' lives and participation. The goal of this research is to shift our focus and resources towards the work and solutions that communities of color have utilized to survive and build their communities despite systemic oppression. To do this, Dr. Reyes works with community members, artists, and non-profit organizations.
