Jennie Dorris, MM, is a PhD student in Rehabilitation Science and a graduate student researcher in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Ms. Dorris is a trained classical musician. She is interested in developing and assessing music interventions for older adults with memory loss, with a focus on music's effects on emotional well-being, social connection and cognitive function. She received a National Endowment for the Arts Research Grant in the Arts supporting the assessment of an intergenerational music program delivered by teenage musicians to older adults living with dementia.
