Eunyoung Choi is a postdoctoral associate at the School of Global Public Health at New York University. Her research program aims to identify and understand diversity and health disparities related to aging and improve cognitive health outcomes, especially for underserved communities. Specifically, she has investigated how race/ethnicity and other socio-cultural factors (e.g., acculturation, discrimination, and social isolation) interplay to affect older minorities and immigrants’ health through the lens of intersectionality. In her second line of research, she sought to examine how psychosocial factors, including self-perceptions of aging and subjective age, influence individuals’ thoughts and behaviors over the life course, thereby contributing to the well-being and health outcomes in later life. At the same time, she is also interested in older adults' technology use to better manage their health and lifestyle. More recent work focuses on exploring broader socio-contextual factors, from neighborhood resources to country characteristics, that create and sustain inequality in health at older ages.
