Dr. Keturah (Kim) Faurot is an epidemiologist with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As the Associate Director for the Program on Integrative Medicine, she conducts nonpharmacologic intervention research for caregivers of people with dementia and for individuals with chronic pain and/or anxiety. With the Epidemiology Department, she developed an algorithm to identify dependency in activities of daily living as a proxy for frailty using the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey and Medicare claims data. She is developing a methodology for dietary supplement data collection and safety assessments.
