Dr. Bybee obtained her PhD in Nursing from the University of Utah. Her doctoral research focused on understanding how couples (including sexual and gender minority couples) can experience posttraumatic growth through the experience of cancer. As a postdoctoral research scholar at the University of Utah, Dr. Bybee is working on projects related to social needs screening and referral for underserved populations. She was awarded a STARS TL1 postdoctoral fellowship which examines the social needs of individuals without internet or telephone access. As a licensed clinical social worker, Dr. Bybee aims to conduct research that will ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of historically marginalized populations, such as sexual and gender minority older adults. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking, hiking, cooking, baking, reading novels, speaking Spanish, and playing with dogs
