Research Public Health Analyst

Melissa Hunter, MSW, is a research public health analyst in RTI International’s Aging, Disability, and Long-Term Care program area. She brings experience in social work and elder care to her role as a researcher and technical assistance provider. She conducts qualitative research, including structured interviews, environmental scans, and policy analysis, for projects related to the direct care workforce and caring for people as they age. In addition to her research, Ms. Hunter works on the National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center providing individualized technical assistance to communities and states delivering dementia care programs funded by the Administration for Community Living’s Alzheimer’s Disease Program Initiative. She also serves as the technical assistance lead for the Independence at Home Demonstration Project. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a concentration in Community, Management, and Policy Practice.
