Talia Salzman is a PhD candidate in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa. Her research takes a multidisciplinary approach to identify changes in cognition that occur with advancing age. Her interests include using portable technology such as functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to measure changes in brain activity and motor control during multitasking scenarios. Talia is applying these methods throughout her doctoral research on older adults who subjectively report cognitive declines to gain insights into the relationship between cognition and motor control and whether these changes can be used to identify early signs of cognitive decline.
