Dr. Malatyali works as an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida, Coollege of Nursing. Her research interest is the older adults’ cognitive health and palliative care needs. Before her academic career, Ayse worked as a registered nurse in various positions in Florida and Turkey, which allowed her to connect and collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals worldwide. Her service in public health for underserved populations planted the seed of a desire to research aging in global health as a long-term goal in her scholarly journey. In her recent work, Dr. Malatyali received the Research Enhancement Grant from Texas A&M University for her proposal titled “Palliative Care Needs of Ethnically Diverse Populations Living with Alzheimer`s Disease and Related Dementias.”
