Mengzhao Yan is a second-year PhD Student at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, where he received a Master’s degree in Aging Services Management and has worked as a Staff. Prior to coming to the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology in 2018, he was a researcher and an administrator at Beijing Foreign Studies University in China. His research interests include: administration of aging and health services; age-friendly ecology; organizational behavioral issues related to aging; and improving the well-being of marginalized populations. He also holds a CA RCFE (Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly) Administrator Certificate. He works under the advisement of Dr. Jon Pynoos and Dr. Kate Wilber. At the 2020 and 2021 Gerontological Society of America (GSA) Annual Conference, his presentations were nominated as one of the Finalists for the Society’s Social Research Policy Practice (SRPP) Section Outstanding Student Poster Award two times.
