The last two years have permanently changed the way hundreds of people around the world work every day. Employers have learned that a distributed workforce opens up them to areas of talent that were previously thought of out of reach. Employees leveraged the opportunity to show that they do not always need to be in a cubicle from 9-5 to be productive. Much of the workforce changed the way they view in-office work and the gig economy dramatically moved past ridesharing and delivery apps. These changes were accelerated in areas where access to high-speed and reliable internet was readily available. City governments and businesses that are preparing themselves to adopt urban migration through infrastructure planning for the long-term will stand to benefit the most.
