Technical Lead, Corporate Development
Google Fiber
Ben Segura is the Technical Lead of Corporate Development at Google Fiber.
Before joining Google Fiber in 2011, Ben spent 10 years as a network engineer at Lafayette Utilities where he designed and built hundreds of miles of aerial and underground fiber plant, maintained critical electric power communication systems, and managed a citywide metro-ethernet ISP network. He also led the development and implementation of the ISP Services Headend for the newly formed LUS Fiber where he managed all Voice, Video, and Data services until his departure.
Ben’s roles at Google Fiber have spanned multiple engineering and technical program disciplines including those in Outside Plant, Architecture, and Network Innovation. In early 2018, Ben took a brief hiatus from Google Fiber to launch a wireless technology start-up, and to advise the Connectivity Fund as an operating partner.
Ben rejoined the Google Fiber team in late 2019 with a specific focus on strategic partnerships -- he continues in this capacity today. Ben graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in Electrical Engineering, is a licensed Professional Engineer, and holds 10+ patents for various optical and deployment related technologies.
