Sean Sikora is a County Commissioner in Monongalia County West Virginia. Sean is a proven leader with a demonstrated commitment to supporting his community. A lifelong resident of West Virginia, Sean is the eighth child in a family of nine. Sean inherits his calling for public service from his father, who served for 28 years as a police officer and instilled in Sean a strong sense of duty to one’s community. Sean has a B.A. in political science as well as an MBA from West Virginia University (WVU) and resides in Morgantown the home of WVU with his wife and two girls.
In his professional life, Sean has built a successful 28-year career in various leadership positions as a contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory, located in Morgantown. Sean is distinguished with two prestigious certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)®, which is presented to professionals who demonstrate a solid foundation of experience and education in project management, and Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), which is the “gold standard” for Contract Managers and is the most senior and renowned certification given by the National Contract Managers Association.
Sean was elected to the Monongalia County Commission in 2016. Sean’s demonstrated sense of public service complements his established skill in leading complex organizations and his solid background in the principles and practice of results-oriented business management, including budgeting and finance. As an experienced project manager, Sean has been leading the county’s comprehensive broadband deployment project which has garnered national attention for its extensive and forward-looking approach.
