Leaders can't care for anyone if they aren't taking care of themselves first. After meeting everyone else's needs (governing body, community, union, staff, family, etc.), there is not much left to ensure that we meet our wellness needs. Self-care goes beyond pampering ourselves with occasional treats. Self-care is a ritual to ensure we can absorb the challenges of life and recognize what we need to be our most constructive, effective, authentic selves. Through stories, facilitated discussion, data, and humor, participants will leave the session empowered to view self-care through a different lens and leave with tools that you can immediately apply to your professional and personal lives.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the session, the participant will be able to define what self-care means for them personally.
By the end of the session, the participant will be able to identify steps to build capacity for leadership.
By the end of the session, the participant will create a list of fun activities that bring them joy.
