The Austin Fire Department is working on construction or renovation for eighteen stations over the next eighteen months. As we began re-imagining our facilities, we started with the most important question, what is our vision for the facility? In this session I will discuss the method we use to create modern facilities that capture our history and reflect the community they serve. It will also include how we share that vision with our design/build teams.
Learning Objectives:
The participant will understand the importance of understanding a clear vision for their station.
The participant will learn the key questions to ask in discovering what is needed for their facility.
The participant will leave with examples of how this vision can be applied to real stations in their community.
