This guided session will demonstrate to chief officers what is creditable when it comes to Alternative Water Supply and what a fire department will need to achieve to get the credit for the community. With proper documentation and improving a community's alternative water capabilities substantial savings in insurance premiums can be derived. Specifically, crediting alternative water within the ISO evaluation will assist those insured properties that are within 5 miles of a credited fire station and outside a 1000 feet from a recognized hydrant. In addition, a fire department's capability with alternative water can be instrumental in improving a community's overall ISO-Public Protection Rating.

Participants will obtain the knowledge to understand how to credit Alternative Water during an ISO survey.
Participants will obtain valuable knowledge on how crediting the alternative water during an ISO survey will help those properties currently not receiving credit in the single PPC classification. This credit will be financially beneficial to their community.
