Dr. Neeltje van Doremalen received her Ph.D. in virology from Imperial College, London, the UK in 2013. During her Ph.D. studies, Dr. van Doremalen studied the receptor binding properties of influenza viruses. She joined the Virus Ecology Section, Laboratory of Virology, NIAID, NIH as a visiting fellow in 2013, and moved into a Staff Scientist position in 2020. In recognition of her work on SARS-CoV-2, Dr. van Doremalen received the honorary Associate Scientist title in 2021. Dr. van Doremalen has been instrumental in the development of COVID-19 vaccines, has published >60 manuscript, and has a h-index of 36.
