Dr. Dawn C. Newcomb is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Newcomb earned her PhD at the University of Michigan, and she conducted her post-doctoral research at Vanderbilt University. For the past decade, Dr. Newcomb has utilized human cells and tissues as well as mouse models to determine how sex hormones modulate immune cell function during allergic airway inflammation. These mechanisms are important for deciphering why there is a sex difference in asthma and other autoimmune diseases.
