Terry Fang, PhD, is a Director at Biogen where she heads a research group discovering new drugs for Genetic and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. One of the programs is aimed at developing an antisense oligonucleotide therapy for Aicardi-Goutières Syndrome, a rare, neurodevelopmental and autoinflammatory genetic disorder. During Terry’s career at Biogen she has led drug discovery programs across diseases that have underlying inflammatory involvement including SLE, Systemic Sclerosis, ALS, Parkinson’s, Stroke, Epilepsy, and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Prior to joining Biogen, Terry was an Irvington Institute postdoctoral fellow at The Rockefeller University. There, her work centered on elucidating epigenetic mechanisms regulating innate anti-viral response, hematopoiesis, and immune cell development. Terry received her Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Pennsylvania and B.A. in Biology from New York University.
