Profesor Yenan Bryceson gained his PhD in 2008 from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden in a graduate partnership exchange program with the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA. His research has focused on the mechanisms whereby cytotoxic natural killer cells and T cells recognize and kill infected and malignant cells. Currently, Dr Bryceson is leading a research group at the Karolinska Institute focusing on regulation of cytotoxic lymphocyte differentiation and function as well as the pathophysiology of primary immunodeficiency syndromes associated with hyperinflammation and susceptibility to severe viral infections.
