Professor, Head of Department
Center of Molecular Biophysics, CNRS and University of Orléans
Orléans, Centre, France
Dr Chantal Pichon is Full Professor at the University of Orléans (France) and performing her research activities at the Center for Molecular Biophysics of Scientific Research National Center (CNRS, Orléans), where she leads the Innovative Therapies and Nanomedicine’s lab. She obtained her PhD at the University of Aix-Marseille (France) and did her post-doctoral work at AFRC (Cambridge-UK). Chantal Pichon has over 15 years of professional experience in the development of nucleic acids therapeutics delivered by non viral systems. These last years, she has been particularly interested in the exploitation of biomedicines and vaccines based on messenger RNA. Her lab develops original formulations (Liposomes, polymers and LNP) for their delivery. They have been one of pioneers who demonstrate that mRNA nanoparticles injected via intravenous injection were able to induce strong immunization against cancers. Recently, C. Pichon has developed a breakthrough technology for mRNA bioproduction. Her research work is supported by grants from French National research agency; European commission (FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe), charity organisations and private companies.
