Description: Advances in our understanding of mechanisms involved in the inflammatory process have revolutionized our opportunity to treat patients and to better inform about transplant rejection, autoimmune diseases and cancer. This session will highlight new approaches exploring inflammation, major drivers of inflammation and ways to alter disease progression. Specially, our speakers will share new ways to utilize T-reg cells in autoimmune disease, explore the archetypes in the tumor microenvironment and their impact on anti-tumor immune strategies, and identify mechanisms for immune-protection and overriding T cell tolerance in transplantation. Finally, our two Societies will showcase lectures highlighting how these themes overlap and apply to autoimmune disease, cancer and transplantation.
