Turning It Up and Turning It Down – Regulating Immune Responses in Mucosal Tissues
Tuesday, June 21, 2022
1:00 PM – 4:30 PM PT
Location: Salons 10/11
Organized By
Description: The immune system in mucosal tissues needs to provide protection against infection without causing excessive tissue damage upon activation. The immune system is also involved in restoring tissue homeostasis and tissue healing. In this symposium, the speakers will discuss the interactions and mechanisms that orchestrate immune responses and function in mucosal tissues. The speakers will discuss the consequences of immune cell activation in context of pathogen control and tissue pathology. The speakers will also present new technologies for assessing mucosal tissue-based immune responses. Overall, the topics of these talks will be of interest to a wide audience that includes clinicians as well as basic immunologists.
