Sara has been a flight nurse with Life Link III since 2020. Prior to becoming flight clinician, she worked in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care unit at a Minneapolis based Level 1 Trauma Center for 15 years where she was trained as an ECMO nurse specialist in 2015. Sara has been trained to assist in procedures such as cannulation and decannulation with patients needing ECMO support as well managing the patient and the pump at bedside in addition to the transport environment. With the partnering of Life Link III and the Minnesota Mobile Resuscitation Consortium, Sara has been working on the mobile ECMO team and was part of the first cannulation in the Mobile ECMO truck.
