Alexander Birch is a critical care transport nurse at Airlife Denver. He’s responsible for moving patients from rural and metropolitan locations to tertiary centers. Along with being an accomplished flight nurse, Alexander has been a clinical educator. He was responsible for generating and maintaining education for nurses, paramedics and physicians which included a high-fidelity simulation program that was noted as possible best practice by CAMTS. He has been called upon to educate emergency and critical care responders on the use of non-invasive mechanical ventilation multiple times. In addition to his role as a critical care transport nurse, he conducts clinical research with the rapid response team at University of Colorado Hospital.
