Dr. Theiling is the Vice Chair of Operations for the Duke Department of Emergency Medicine, the Medical Director for the Emergency Services Clinical Service Unit at Duke University Hospital, and Assistant Medical Director for the Duke Life Flight critical care transport agency. He is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine in the Duke School of Medicine as has been core faculty for Duke Emergency Medicine Residency since 2015. His academic interests include implementation of Machine Learning models in clinical care, critical care transport operations, quality improvement in clinical operations, and ECMO in the pre-hospital and Emergency Department settings. He has multiple peer reviewed publications as well as presentations of didactics, posters and abstracts at local, regional and national conferences on these topics.
