William Cooney is Firefighter/Paramedic for Tampa Fire Rescue, City of Tampa, Florida. To boot, He is a Senior Enlisted Leader in the United States Air Force Reserves with rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Mr. Cooney additionally is an Adjunct Instructor for the EMS Program at Hillsborough Community College.
William, while on several active orders serving in the Military, has been a significant contributor to General (Ret) Joseph L. Votel Killed In Action (KIA) Reduction Initiative (6 Nov 2017) focusing on the trauma care provided on casualties from point of injury. Following the studies provided from the Armed Forces Medical Examiner Systems and the Joint Trauma System- deaths on the battlefield are potentially preventable. Implementing/Instructing over 75 Tactical Combat Casualty Care courses for Humans and six K9 TCCC courses at MacDill AFB, Fl, additional US Military Instillations, prior to Service Members deployments and local Public Safety communities; “That others may live”.
