Dr. Smith is an emergency physician at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the medical director of Carolina Air Care. He is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. At Carolina Air Care, Dr. Smith has developed protocols for the use of point of care ultrasound and has overseen the training of more than 40 flight nurses and paramedics in the use of point of care ultrasound.
