Dr. James is the Vice President of Patient Care Services and oversees JeffSTAT clinical operations at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia. His experience in transport medicine encompasses 30 years as a paramedic, nurse, and administrator. Dr. James’ contributions to the field include: editor/co-editor/author for three editions of the ASTNA Critical Care Ground and Specialty Transport Standards and the Critical Care Transport Core Curriculum. He has presented over 20 AMTC educational sessions and served on both the ASTNA and AAMS Board of Directors. In 2018, Dr. James led a team to develop the critical care transport program for The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. He is currently working to identify alternative models of care that address opportunities in workforce models and health equity.
