Charlie Swearingen is a national critical care educator and flight paramedic currently residing in Brandon, MS. His career began in Jackson, Mississippi where he worked as an EMT, paramedic and later flight paramedic with the University of Mississippi’s helicopter program, AirCare. Charlie left Mississippi and this dream job to chase down an Olympic berth in volleyball, and in 2016 he achieved that goal. Charlie is a board member of 2 charities, EMS Success and Chive Charities. He also owns Meducation Specialists, a business geared to help nurses, paramedics, physicians, NPs, PAs, and RTs prepare for their critical care practice in the air medical environment, and he is working to finish his PhD in physiology. He has written 9 books, two of which are bestselling books on Amazon including, Vent Hero, centering on mechanical ventilation management in transport. He is training to earn an Olympic berth to the Paris 2024 Summer Games. In November 2021, he moved back to Mississippi from Denver, CO with his wife, Marge, to raise their daughter, Isla. He not only returned to Mississippi, but also to the University of Mississippi, AirCare.
