Organizations around the world use keywords such as premier, high-quality, reliable, safe, and industry-leading to describe the quality of the care delivered to patients. However, when asked to back up those statements many organizations discover there is a gap between reality and their self-perceived notions of their own performance. This session will describe one organization’s journey to challenge their self-perceived notions of quality and to completely rebuild a quality management system in a 35+ year old program.
